Strain Sensors

DT4000

DT4000

Columbia Research has mastered the art of providing our customers with a simple packaged Strain Gage Sensor which can be mounted to the flat surface area of any structure to be monitored with standard strain gage epoxies. This device removes the installer from the tedious tasks of orienting, mounting, and wiring individual strain gages.

The Series is available as a Strain only sensor, the model DT4000 and a Strain/ Temperature sensor utilizing a precision 1000-ohm platinum resistance temperature sensor, the model DT4002. The standard sensor has a STC number of 05 which matches it to the temperature expansion characteristics of both Stainless Steel and Titanium. We also offer a version matched to aircraft grade aluminum alloys with an STC of 13. The sensors are all configured in a direct full bridge bondable configuration with a silicon rubber housing and 48-inch 26AWG Teflon insulated, strain relieved lead wires. The Sensors provide a Strain Sensitivity of 1.025 Mv. output per DC Volt of bridge excitation per 1000 Micro Strains.
